If they wake up especially during this phase, they often require comfort as they are are so aware of surroundings and they are slowly learning that the new things they just realised are around them are actually safe. It doesn't last, nor does it lay a foundation teaching them to wake frequently. Also during these periods of lots of developments they often feed a lot more often (though sometimes a lot less) than before. The 4 month in particular they are so much more aware of their surroundings that it's common to be distracted during daytime feedings and require night time nursing to keep the calories up. ![]() During a "regression" babies are rapidly developing. ![]()
